According to the review from DAPreview, there are a few drawbacks that they find for the Retro T2 iPod touch case:
- The reduce of overall sensitivity of the touch screen -- not to any great degree but on occasion you may have to repeat an action.

- The black frame on the front plate, which surrounds the screen, is about 1.2mm off target (Shown on picture below). The unit that they are reviewing is a black edition. The reflect-chrome version is free from this flaw.


- The opening for the headphone jack is too tight for some headphone.

5 open Terminal (Winscp or PuTTy) and execute following commands.

Solution for Disk Space issue on iPod Touch.

After some time you'll realize that there is no more space on your iPod Touch.
This happens because all applications are installed in root partition.

iPod Touch Operating System as well as any other UNIX operating system use disk drive partitioning of

following idea:

/ small partition to store system data (core)
/usr/home or /home to store user related data.

In our case

/var/media - partition to store Music and Video
all other sections on File system belongs to / "root" Partition.

So All applications you're installing located at /var/Application/



Easy fix is to move Application data to "media" partition and create symlink.

Steps for iPod Touch 4-8 Gb ONLY:

1. Download Latest ZiPhone
2. Launch downloaded application.
3. press Jailbreak (installation of Installer).

Following steps applies for all firmware versions up to 1.1.4 and this is ONLY for iPod less than 8Gb, if you'll launch Jailbreak on newer Touch (16-32 Gb), than you'll get error message BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0

This could be FIXEDwith following instructions.


If your iPod Touch is over 8Gb, follow steps below:

1 Restore Touch to frimware (OS) 1.1.4 version.
2 Stop "iTunes" and "iTunes Helper" with windows Taskmanager. (or control panel/administration/services stop "iTunes Helper" service.)
3 start ZiPhone 2.5с
4 press Jailbreak, util you'll see message on the screen MacAdress....
5 right on message stop clicking Jailbreak and close (not kill task, but close ZiPhone).

7 Done. Note if you keep cable connection (when you are looking at "Apple" icon, than your iPod touch will jailbreak again and you'll see BSD root... message. (process fails all steps again).

Apple Q2 2008: 10.644m iPods, 1.7m iPhones sold

Reporting its second quarter financial results today, Apple said it sold 10.6 million iPods during the quarter—on par with most analyst predictions, and pushing the total number of iPods sold to just over 152 million.

Despite Apple’s dramatic iPod shuffle price drop during the quarter, which saw the iPod family for the first time become accessible at the $49 price point, iPod sales were almost flat compared to the year-ago quarter, with only 1% growth in unit sales, and 8% growth in revenues. It also sold 1.7 million iPhones in the quarter, bringing the total number of units sold up to 5.4 million as of March 31, a number that is likely over 6 million by now.

The company posted revenue of $7.51 billion and net quarterly profit of $1.05 billion, or $1.16 per diluted share, compared with revenue of $5.26 billion and net quarterly profit of $770 million, or $.87 per diluted share in Q2 2007. Sales of Other Music Related Products + Services were up 35% over the year-ago quarter and 9% over the first quarter of 2008, to $881 million total. That category includes iTunes Store sales, iPod services, and revenues from Apple and third-party iPod accessories. Total iPhone revenue, including carrier agreements and all iPhone accessories from Apple and third parties, was $412m, up 57% over the preceding quarter despite a 26% drop in unit sales.

“We’re delighted to report 43 percent revenue growth and the strongest March quarter revenue and earnings in Apple’s history,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “With over $17 billion in revenue for the first half of our fiscal year, we have strong momentum to launch some terrific new products in the coming quarters.”

“We’re thrilled to have generated $4 billion in cash flow from operations in the first half of fiscal 2008, yielding an ending cash balance of $19.4 billion,” said Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s CFO. “Looking ahead to the third quarter of fiscal 2008, we expect revenue of about $7.2 billion and earnings per diluted share of about $1.00.”

"Well, i love monkeys, but this case is not built well. My concerns- it is really thin, so it stretches out easily and can tear. Plus, the rubber is really sticky so putting it in your pocket is a chore. Combine the stickiness with the thinness and it is borderline un-useable. If you want a rubber case, get one of the INCASE ones- they are thicker and sturdier, plus the rubber is sticky enough so the phone doesn't slide on surfaces, but it's still smooth enough to easily get it into and out of pockets."

Nike+ coming to iPhone, iPod touch

Nike plans to expand its Nike+ program to include the iPhone and iPod touch, according to a new report.

Stuff.tv, visiting Nike’s headquarters in Oregon, said a Nike+ spokesperson confirmed the expansion, adding that it could also make use of the devices’ Wi-Fi capabilities (and possibly the iPhone’s upcoming 3G connection) to allow users to update their training log on the fly, without the need for docking with a computer.

This news follows a set of recently published Apple patent applications, which outlined a digital fitness program for iTunes and touchscreen digital media devices.

Apple: iTunes is #1 Music Retailer in the U.S.

Apple announced on Thursday that they have surpassed Wal-Mart to become the number one music retailer in the U.S. The numbers come from the NPD Group.

"We launched iTunes less than five years ago, and it has now become the number one music retailer in the world," said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes. "We are thrilled, and would like to thank all of our customers for helping us reach this incredible milestone."

Apple said that the announcement was "based on data from market research firm the NPD Group’s MusicWatch survey that captures consumer reported past week unit purchases and counts one CD representing 12 tracks, excluding wireless transactions. The iTunes Store became the largest music retailer in the U.S. based on the amount of music sold during January and February 2008."

Apple has been steadily climbing the charts in this respect. Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs, has shown the sales position of Apple's iTunes at major keynotes and the suggestion was always that Wal-Mart, in Apple's sights, would eventually be surpassed by iTunes. Thursday's announcement punctuates those keynote slides even more, and chances are, there will be a big smile on Mr. Jobs face during WWDC's keynote.

Exclusive News: Ipod Touch Firmware 2.0

Moments ago I found out there is "development guy" on net that has Ipod Touch /Iphone Firmware 2.0 ! Somehow this firmware 2.0 leaked out of Apple Development Team which is performing beta testing.

I have also being told this firmware 2.0 will not be available via iTunes or Apple Store , only way to get it is to download it manually.

Apple might change that, because not many ipod touch and iphone users are very tech savy to install firmware "manually"


ADT (Apple Development Team) is probably using software like Pwnage in order to test firmware 2.0..

As it looks like we are looking for new firmware very soon!
