Netflix on the iphone
I just read about this today. Netflix is coming to the iphone which should mean it will be available to the ipod touch. If that is the case, then I will be extremely happy that I can stream my netflix movies on it.

Video games FarmVille and Guitar Hero along with streaming video service Netflix are all inbound for Apple's iPhone, the company announced at today's WWDC event.
Wait--Netflix movies and TV shows on your teensy iPhone? Don't tell David Lynch. Don't tell your cell phone provider, either. With monthly "fair access policy" transfer caps snarling cellular plans, the success of a bandwidth-gobbling streaming video service seems less than assured.
Then again, word is the iPhone interface won't cost a penny extra for existing Netflix users. You'll be able to stream anything available through Netflix Watch Instantly, poke around in Netflix's video database, organize your viewing queue, and--best of all--start then stop a video on your TV and pick up where you left off on your iPhone (the reverse holds true, presumably).

Gin Rummy
This ipod touch app recently got an update. I saw my wife playing this game, so I started to play it too. I can't believe how fun and addictive it is. Anyways, it is just another game to have fun playing.
I still use my ipod touch everyday for listening to music, but honestly my enthusiasm for this gadget has been reduced. I think it is because it lacks the ability to do things that I later found out after using it.
At one point, I was interested in getting the latest version and go to a 32 or 64 GB, but I don't value it as much as before and think there will be better gadgets to use in the future.

Apple Ipod Touch Speakers
My wife has some great speakers that I can plug in my Apple Ipod Touch. We rented a car that didn't have an mp3 plug so we brought this along and it worked great.
It also recharges the player at the same time. Very cool to bring when you are traveling.

Reformatted my iPod Touch
I tried reformatting my Ipod Touch and it was very easy to do. I was attempting to roll back the firmware update so I could try to use this TV output wire. Unfortunately, it just removes your data and applications, but it keeps the most up to date o/s so the firmware prevents the fake apple part from working.
This really is a bit annoying. I understand why they do it. They are simply greedy. I like to use usb drives and other attachments on my laptop and netbook, and other companies allow these peripherals to work even though they are not made by the same manufacturer. This apple strategy is a big turn off.
I was looking forward to the Apple Ipad at one point, but after seeing what they have decided to do, I must say there are better alternatives out there.

The Apple Ipod touch TV video
I bought one of these ipod touch video wires from ebay and hooked it up to my TV. It didn't work. Apparently, after reading the forums, there is software built in to the apple ipod that updated in the 2nd generation that recognizes un-authentic apple hardware. Prior to that, this would have worked on the 1st generation.
This is a disappointment because all of the original apple equipment is overpriced at the retail level. Many other gadgets I have allow me to use any type of equipment from other manufacturers. For example most USB devices will work on my laptop and netbooks.
I contacted the seller and he refunded my money no questions asked. I guess you have to expect these things when dealing with apple products.

Learning more about what my 1st apple ipod touch can do
I literally use my 1st apple ipod touch everyday multiple times of the day. Surprisingly enough I use it most now as an mp3 player which is what it initially started out as to be. My wife downloaded a great 1 hour meditation song for me that I use to fall asleep to. It is some slow melody with rain noise in the background. We got it free from Amazon with their free 3 mp3 offer for black Friday.
I actually like to use my ipod touch to browse my netflix queue and wish I could play movies on it. I looked it up on the Internet to see if they have plans to enable the devise, and I guess rumor has it that it will one day. The main problem is the operating system and platform won't support it yet.
While doing this search I did find this other site to help me get more knowledgeable about my gadget. Check it out and I hope you find if useful too.

My 1st Apple Ipod Touch video
OK, I was surfing the internet on a safari browser and saw this good review of the Apple Ipod Touch 2nd generation. Also know as 2G. This is the previous version because Apple just released the 3rd Generation aka 3G at a lower price with the previous firmware updates included.
What can I say, I still love this gadget and think in the future if I can get a great deal I might upgrade to to newest one with more memory. I think getting the cheapest in the beginning is good because you want to play with it and make sure you like it.

Apple Ipod update
I use my Apple Ipod Touch everyday. Skype is one of my favorite programs to use on it. It allows me to make phone calls at any place I have a wifi connection. It does have the ability to send text messages too, but it looks pricey compared to other programs that are available out there.
Since purchasing my Ipod Touch a newer version has come out at a lower price point of $199. I guess I bought mine 3 months too early. I have no regrets though because it is a great gadget. I notice sorting through my Gmail emails is much easier and faster than online because of the way google has its application set up on the Ipod.
Anyways, I love my Apple Ipod Touch.

Skype on the Apple Ipod Touch
I have had the skype program on my computer for a few years. I didn't use it in a while because I have a voip business phone and the sound quality on that was much better.
When I started checking out the apps, I realized that the Ipod Touch 2nd generation had a mic application built in unlike the previous version. So I thought I would give it a try.
I ordered some eom headset with built in mics from Ebay. Of course, they were sent out from Hong Kong. I received them today, and plugged them in and nothing.
I talked and left voicemail messages and was disappointed. I started reading the forums to see if there were mods or apps I needed to install to get the mic to work. My wife asked me what I was doing and I explained it to her. She asked if I had the volume on? DOHHHHHH
I tried the skype program again with the volume up and viola, it worked. I love being married to someone smarter than me. LOL.

Basic web surfing capabilities
I am still very happy with my purchase on this Apple Ipod Touch. The basic apps that come with it are very useful.
The main apps that are probably often used are YouTube, Maps, Mail and Weather. I have used those applications everyday so far. Yeah I know less than 3 days only, but still I am not bored with it.
I did download some free apps. They are actually games and my wife chose them. They are fun and I will talk more about them in later posts. Anyways, have a great weekend. Cheers!

My 1st Apple Ipod Touch humble beginnings
Yes, I have recently purchased one of those new Apple Nerd Gizmos and I am impressed to say the least. I didn't think I could really get excited over any of these computers or gadgets out there any more, but this one has definitely caught my interest.
Here are my first pictures of my new toy, I mean new computer gadget.
One of the first things I noticed is how thin and sleek it looks and feels in my hand. Very solid construction as opposed to my netbook which seems mostly made of plastic. Don't get me wrong, I like my netbook and it serves its purpose, but I think this would have been a more smarter purchase at the time.
This is a picture of my main blog and you can see it is very sharp and clear even in its tiny screen size. The zoom function is excellent on this. It is completely customizable to the size you like.
Even though I have only had it for 24 hours, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. I have downloaded a couple of free apps, surfed the internet, checked email, and watched a few youtube videos on it. The battery life is about 6 hours.
The only negative thing is the oily screen and numerous fingerprints from all the finger touching you have to do on the screen.
Currently, I am on the hunt for a case to house and protect my toy, I have already ordered a headset so I can use my Skype on this device, and will probably purchase a stylus because typing on the tiny keyboard is challenging and I am prone to making a ton of errors.
