Apple's New iPad 2 Release Date Announcement: News on Specs, Features, and Pricing

New iPad 2 is Faster, with Better Graphics, Front, and Rear Cameras, Dual-Core A5 Processer Available March, 11

The new iPad 2 was announced on Wednesday sporting a fast A5 chip with twice the performance of the A4 chip in last-generation's iPad released in 2010. The new Tablet is also more svelte, its now slimmer at 8.8mm vs the 13.4mm of the old model and has lost some weight, coming in at just 1.3 pounds, vs 1.5 pounds for the last iPad, so you'll be carrying less, but gaining so much more functionality.

The shiny new device will ship in America on March 11 for both AT&T, and Verizon. And will ship in the following countries on March 25:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK

Pricing will start at: $499 - 16 gig Wifi, $599 – 32 gig Wifi, and $699 - 64 gig Wifi. As well as $629 – 16 gig Wifi/3G, $729 – 322 gig Wifi/3G, and $829 – 64 gig Wifi/3G.

The all-new graphics chip offers 9 times the power of the former chip, making for much better gameplay, and snappier Apps. Specs at a glance:

• Colors - Black or White
  
• Front camera - video, VGA at 30 fps. and rear camera - HD 720p at 30 fps
  
• Battery life of 10 hours, with 1 month on standby
  
• HDMI out (with $39.00 cable) HDMI video mirroring to an HDTV (with optional adapter)

Apple also offers a new Smart Cover which wakes your iPad 2 when you open it, and puts it to sleep when you close it. The new cover uses magnets to auto-align it perfectly on your new iPad 2. Smart Covers are available in leather or polyurethane – ”the stuff space suits are made of,” in 5 colors with the polyurethane covers at $39 each, while the leather covers are $69 each.

The new iPad 2 represents a huge leap over the original iPad, with much better features, specs, and iPad 2 accessories than the former, and pricing that can't be beat. With this announcement, Apple annihilates the competition, and makes iPad 2 the tablet to beat. Which iPhone Should i Buy? - the AT&T iPhone 4, vs the Verizon iPhone 4

Verizon's iPhone 4, and the AT&T iPhone 4, both may be made by Apple but are quite different in some aspects. When asking “which iPhone should I buy?” potential iPhone user's have a number of things to consider.

Which Standard is Best for you?

Verizon operates on the CDMA ( Code Division Multiple Access ) standard, while AT&T uses GSM ( Global System for Mobile Communications ) In the United States, CDMA ( with Verizon in the lead ) serves the most user's, while GSM dominates in the rest of the world. So which iPhone you should choose may well depend on weather you travel a lot, or remain stateside.


The AT&T iPhone includes a SIM card which stores user data, and contacts, while the Verizon model does not. This is another issue which must be considered if you are the type who likes the convenience of easily swapping your card from phone, to phone.

The AT&T and Verizon iPhone Shuffle

According to Apple, some of the differences in the implementation of the settings, and features are make one really think before taking the plunge, and choosing one iPhone, over another. Consider the following:

• The AT&T iPhone supports up to 5 conference calls simultaneously, while the Verizon model supports only 2.
  
  
  
• To place a call on hold on the GSM model you simply tap, and hold the mute button, while CDMA networks don't offer the ability to place a call on hold.
  
  
  
• Turning on or off Call forwarding, Call waiting, and Caller ID are easy on the AT&T iPhone, just select Settings > Phone. While on Verizon one must dial *72 ( plus the forwarding # ) to turn Call forwarding on ( *73 to turn it off ) For Call waiting Verizon user's must dial *70 ( plus the # you're dialing ) as well as dial *70 each time to disable Call waiting. AND for Caller ID you must dial *67 ( plus the # you are dialing ) as well as dialing *67 each time to disable Caller ID, whew!
  
  
  
• And of course most importantly, the AT&T version of the iPhone allows you to simultaneously make phone calls and transfer data, while the Verizon model does not.
  
  
  

Can You Hear us Now?

Are you guys beginning to get the picture? If you live in one of the data-congested cities like New York, or San Francisco, or are otherwise suffering from dropped calls on the AT&T network, and you can live with the quirks above, you may want to choose the Verizon iPhone. But if not, then selecting The AT&T iPhone may be the clear choice.

Yo Apple Where is White iPod Touch?

There is a rumor going around that White iPod Touch might hit the market soon but still it's just a rumor. Thing is that iPhone 4 users have been waiting for White design for some time now. Few sources are reporting that Apple is still designing white iPhone 4 and the main problem seems to be the white color. Same sources are reporting that Apple did not release white iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4th Generation because color of the Home Button and Front Design white color did not match.

I still like the black design more than white if you ask me but then again there is many of you that would rather have White front design than black.
