3G for iPod Touch Review

Technology moved on and time came when iPod Touch can not only be music listening device and connect to “Wifi” but also have 3G! Introducing to you 3G for iPod Touch by Virgin Mobile!

 

At fist I was bit skeptical about whole 3G for iPod Touch and on top of that, why would I need 3G for iPod Touch when I have smartphone or iPad for that?

Nice thing about the 3G for iPod Touch is not only connection but also something you can take on the road and have wifi turned on all the time. While many carriers charge $30+ for data plan with Virgin Mobile I got it for $20 and what I like most about it? NO FREAKING CONTRACT! :)

iPod Touch Update from the 'Let's Rock' Event

Some exiting updates for the iPod Touch from the Let's Rock event:

• The iPod Touch has got a new thinner stainless steel case
• Hardware volume controls added (hooray!) and a built-in speaker
• Nike+ receiver is also built in
• User interface has been tweaked
• Added iTunes Genius features and App Store
• Extended battery life: 36 hours of music and 6 hours of video
• Price drop: 8GB for $229, 16GB for $299, and 32GB for $399

What Is Ipod Touch Getting Out Of It

There are few rumors about Iphone which ill give you info about it. But in all that where is Ipod Touch what can we expect for Ipod Touch to become

Iphone rumors:

• Price: $399 for 8GB, $499 for 16GB, possibly $599 for 32GB (TGDaily, citing “industry sources”)
• Timing: Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference, presumably on June 10, during Steve Jobs’ keynote address. (ditto)
• Body: Less “plasticky,” 2.5mm thinner (current dimensions are 115 x 61 x 11.6mm). (ditto)
• Accelerometer: Re-tuned. (ditto)
• Bandwidth: Up to 7.2 Mbps from Infineon (IFX) S-GOLD3H chipset (ZiPhone, see here)

Microsoft Working on Ipod Touch Apps?

Rumor that I got via email:Microsoft has specialized team for Ipod Touch and Iphone to develop Applications in near future.

Tom Hibbons works for Microsoft in Specialized Devices department.He stated that his team and him self are happy to develop applications for Iphone as well as for Ipod Touch. For now these applications are only available for internal use but soon to be released to public.

I do see the point Microsoft doing that due to their products advertising on Iphone and Ipod Touch, but how and why would Apple let that happen so easy?

Are we going back to 80?

iPod Touch Tricks

I updated our ipod touch theme which is another trick by me

I have noticed that the iphone theme I edited was not good for google search engine , and we are immediately after 24 hours bounced back to page 1 or page 2 , usually if you would type ipod touch tricks our page is no.1 or no.2 !!! And that is what we all want right? !!!

3rd Party Applications For iPod Touch due February

Today I was at the apple website to get some more tricks(applications,Software) for us iPod Touch lovers.

What I found out is amazing, people don't have to use hacks to use 3rd party applications on ipod touch, by february iphone and ipod touch owners will be able to add applications! (yey).

Here is the quote from apple site:

Let me just say it: We want native third party applications on the iPhone, and we plan to have an SDK in developers’ hands in February. We are excited about creating a vibrant third party developer community around the iPhone and enabling hundreds of new applications for our users. With our revolutionary multi-touch interface, powerful hardware and advanced software architecture, we believe we have created the best mobile platform ever for developers.

It will take until February to release an SDK because we’re trying to do two diametrically opposed things at once—provide an advanced and open platform to developers while at the same time protect iPhone users from viruses, malware, privacy attacks, etc. This is no easy task. Some claim that viruses and malware are not a problem on mobile phones—this is simply not true. There have been serious viruses on other mobile phones already, including some that silently spread from phone to phone over the cell network. As our phones become more powerful, these malicious programs will become more dangerous. And since the iPhone is the most advanced phone ever, it will be a highly visible target.

Some companies are already taking action. Nokia, for example, is not allowing any applications to be loaded onto some of their newest phones unless they have a digital signature that can be traced back to a known developer. While this makes such a phone less than “totally open,” we believe it is a step in the right direction. We are working on an advanced system which will offer developers broad access to natively program the iPhone’s amazing software platform while at the same time protecting users from malicious programs.

We think a few months of patience now will be rewarded by many years of great third party applications running on safe and reliable iPhones.

iPod Touch Trick iJailbreak

I can't believe this!A 13 year old boy hacked ipod touch within 9 hours, he did not have money to buy an ipod touch but he let his crack on macrumors website, people tested it and said it works good.

He created apple script that will actually let you install any applications for ipod touch only v1.1.1 !!!
